Microphone isn’t working

For CallMe.ai to hear you, your browser or device must have microphone permission set to “Allow.” Always choose “Allow” when prompted — we recommend selecting “Always allow” if available so you don’t have to approve it each time.


If your mic still isn’t working:


  • Check that your browser or device has microphone permission turned on.
  • Refresh CallMe.ai and try again.



How to check your settings


If you’re using CallMe.ai in a desktop browser, check your browser settings:


Google Chrome (Windows/Mac)

  1. Click the lock icon (or “Not secure”) in the address bar.
  2. Click Site settings.
  3. Find Microphone and select Allow.

Mozilla Firefox (Windows/Mac)

  1. Click the lock icon in the address bar.
  2. Click the right arrow under “Site Information.”
  3. Click More Information.
  4. Click Permissions.
  5. Find Use the Microphone and select Allow.


Safari (Mac)

  1. Go to Safari > Preferences.
  2. Open the Websites tab.
  3. Select Microphone from the left sidebar.
  4. Find your website and choose Allow.

If you’re on a mobile browser, check these settings:


Chrome (Android)

  1. Tap the lock icon in the address bar.
  2. Tap Site settings.
  3. Find Microphone and tap Allow.


Safari (iOS)

  1. Go to Settings > Safari > Camera & Microphone Access.
  2. Toggle on Allow Sites to Request Access.
  3. Revisit the website and tap Allow when prompted.


Firefox (Android)

  1. Tap the lock icon in the address bar.
  2. Tap Edit Site Settings.
  3. Find Microphone and select Allow.


Firefox (iOS)

  1. Go to Settings > Firefox > Microphone.
  2. Toggle on Firefox.
  3. Revisit the website and tap Allow when prompted.

Check your device’s microphone settings:


MacOS

  1. Open the Apple menu.
  2. Select System Settings.
  3. Click Privacy & Security in the sidebar.
  4. Click Microphone.
  5. Turn on access for the apps you want.


iOS

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Privacy.
  3. Tap Microphone.
  4. Toggle access on for each app.


Android

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to Security & privacy (or just Privacy on some devices).
  3. Select Privacy > Permission manager (or App permissions).
  4. Tap Microphone.
  5. Choose an app and select Allow only while using the app.
